Setting:
TW-Gore.
The world of the Saw movies takes place in our world, in Los Angeles CA, with the exception that there's a serial killer by the name of Jigsaw who kidnaps his victims and forces them to play a series of games that result in life and death.

History:
Born into a family filled with many disappointments, Adam grew up the middle child of a middle class house. As such, Adam felt as if he were constantly ignored; his younger and older siblings were always getting more attention than him. He grew up bitter, angry and ignored. He took an interest to many things his parents would disprove of (photography being the exception) and when they finally had an interest in what Adam was doing with his life, they got into an argument and he kicked them out of his life.
And moved away.
Wanting to pursuer a career and make a name for himself, Adam moved to Los Angeles and changed his last name to that of Faulkner. (A huge part of his name change was to hide from his family so they'd have a hard time finding him.) Like all artists starting out in Hollywood, Adam struggled with his job and had a hard time paying the bills on time. Over the years, he took on various photography jobs, but managed to make a few good friends along the way; one of which were a group of people in a Punk band; a genre of music that Adam happened to like.
After being hired by a retired Detective, Adam's job was to follow a doctor by the name of Lawrence Gordon whom the Det. suspected of being the infamous Jigsaw Killer. Unfortunately for Adam, his paparazzi-like occupation had led him to become a suspect in one of Jigsaw's games. After falling asleep from developing photos of Dr. Gordon, he discovers that every light in his apartment is out. He soon learns that someone else is in the room with him and while using his camera's flash as a light source, something in a pig's mask and cloak renders him unconscious.
He wakes in a rundown bathroom, chained to a pipe, and discovers he's locked in the same room with the man he was hired to photograph; Dr. Gordon. Unfortunately, there's another man in the middle of the bathroom, but having played the game before the other two arrived, he's already dead. They both learn that they've become victim to one of Jigsaw's games and have until 6pm to complete it. Lawrence's test was to kill Adam within that given time frame if he wanted to save his family, and Adam's task was to do something about it. After several attempts at faking Adam's death, 6pm finally rolled around, and desperate, Dr. Gordon began to sew through his foot with the saws that were provided.
After being freed from the pipe and realizing that the time was out, Lawrence shot Adam. Another victim of Jigsaw's, a man named Zep, was given the task of watching over Adam and Lawrence to make sure one of them won the game. With the clock at 6pm, he entered the bathroom and prepared to kill Dr. Gordon because his attempt to kill Adam wasn't within the time frame. Unfortunately for Zep, Adam was only shot in the shoulder and was able to tackle Zep. In a fit of rage and fear, Adam grabbed a toilet seat cover and began to repeatedly beat him over the head; killing him.
Thinking Zep was Jigsaw himself, and that everything was over, Gordon exited the bathroom and promised to return with help; albeit his bleeding to death. Sadly, the real Jigsaw killer is still alive. In fact, it's the man in the middle of the bathroom who was supposedly dead! To Adam's horror, he watches the body get up, and thus proceed to lock him in the dark. With the doors now closed, Adam can only scream as he remain trapped.
Personality:
To ask if the glass is half full or half empty, you'd almost expect Adam to say half empty, but he's not a pessimist and he'd ask why you'd even ask such a stupid question. If anything, Adam considers himself a realist. He knows all about the hardships of life and how much his currently sucks at the moment so be prepared to hear a lot of complaining from him. Complainer yes, but Adam still gets things done. Then again, as stubborn as he is, life could be easier for him if he found himself a job that paid better. But he never saw himself as a guy working from 9-5 in a cubicle.
Somewhat of a cynic, Adam's responses are rather distasteful and often sarcastic. You're most likely to get a cheeky answer than a serious one. Due to this, Adam's friendships come few and far between. This could also be due to the fact that he has a hard time opening himself up to people. Trust is something that has to be earned, due to various bad relationships in the past, and once you've earned his trust, Adam is as loyal as they come.
To say Adam isn't a happy person is untrue. On any given day where things are going his way, Adam is an extremely friendly and cheerful person. He's the happy drunk out of the group. Willing to help out his friends set up for a concert, or drive them somewhere (granted they help him with gas money), he cherishes the company of those who accept him for who he is.
Adam is also extremely talkative and won't shy away from letting everyone know what's on his mind. But for being a big talker, he doesn't reveal much. In fact, most of the time he's just BS'ing. Truth is, if he finds out something that could potentially hurt someone's feelings, he'll keep it a secret. Unless if they piss him off enough. Anger is something that also comes easy to Adam. With a hard past and harder present, it's no wonder that sarcasm and anger come hand in hand for him. To quote Jigsaw, Adam is someone who can be seen as apathetic.
He's also the type of person who'll strive to get the job done. Tell him he can't do it and he'll go out of his way to prove you wrong. Determined and headstrong, Adam is a strong-willed individual. Unfortunately, he's also prone to stress at the slightest thing. Easy provoked, Adam is a person who'll freak upon a moments notice and consider the worst case scenario. But this doesn't mean he'll give up when the shit hits the fan. As mentioned previously, Adam is a stubborn human and will strive to do his best.
Abilities:
Adam is human, therefore he does not have any powers. However, he has a very good eye for details and notices things that most people would probably look past, so he took up photography as a profession. In addition to his photography skills, Adam also happens to be very observant. While this skill might not be a particularly good one to have, Adam is good at sarcastic comebacks, but it's gotten him in trouble more than helped him in the long run.
